Letters to the Editor offer the reader an opportunity to observe an exciting and often enlightening interchange between at least two professionals. The tradition of this format within professional literature is a long one and we are pleased to bring this feature to AJSLP beginning with this issue. Following the publication of the inaugural issue of the journal (September 1991), readers expressed concerns about two articles that appeared; their letters were sent to the authors for responses. I think that the product furthers our own intellectual curiosity and makes for some truly pleasurable reading.
